How confident are you?

When I first started dancing I was looking for a way to keep fit without going to the gym… Fast forward 15 years and here I am as a Trainer and (almost) Biomechanics Coach empowering other dancers to get strong, flexible and pain-free!

I was lucky to have an amazing teacher @hildedancer who helped instill my passion for developing a strength & flexibility practice to support my dance and spent workshops with many inspiring teachers frantically scribbling down a killer new exercises to incorporate into my own training or “torture” my students with haha!

My attitude to training has changed since those early days - my approach emphasises release and balance BEFORE any stronger work and definitely no torture (I hope!)

And certainly back then I really did not have the CONFIDENCE that I was doing the right thing for my body. It wasn’t until I started my PT training that I started to get it (and also to learn how much I didn’t know… and still don’t know....)

The Strong Motion programme is what I would have loved to have been able to take myself. It’s a consolidation of 15 years’ dancing, 12 years’ teaching and 5 years’ fitness and movement training and each iteration is continually evolving asI learn and develop my own skills and find out more about what dancers need!

One client mentioned to me last week that she feels like she has truly learned a life skill. She is CONFIDENT that her strength & flexibility practice is exactly what her body needs to keep her pain free, support her dancing and prevent injury.

She has recently gone back to taking dance classes in the studio and for the first time she can dance for 2 hours pain free. Not only that, when she sees herself in the mirror she is so much more CONFIDENT in her dancing, thanks to the focussed technique work we have been doing.

And she has CONFIDENCE in herself, she has the knowledge to know what to do if she feels any tightness or niggles in her body.
