Organic vs. Inorganic Movement
Our dance style has a rich variety of movement - much of which I think of as “organic” - an extension of how we move our bodies in everyday life. We also have a lot of “inorganic” movement - this is the stuff that looks super-cool and weird - and it’s because we don’t usually move our bodies in this way.
When we are moving our bodies from a strong yet mobile base, our movements are cleaner, bigger, crispier, more fluid. Without the strength and flexibility to support both these types of movement we run the risk of injury.
